AUMENTAR O CONHECIMENTO DO INTERTIDAL E SUBTIDIAL DENTRO DAS ÁREAS PROTEGIDAS PNN, RNT, RNBE

The aim of this project is to characterise and monitor the intertidal and subtidal zones through direct observation on the coast of Boa Vista, concentrating its efforts on the east coast of the island, these coasts are located within the protected areas of the “Parque Natural do Norte” and the “Reserva Natural das Tartarugas”, both areas are far from the communities and will be the index areas for the island.

Another point to monitor will be the “Boa Esperança Nature Reserve”, part of its coast is located in an urban area and is subject to high pollution pressure due to the incorrect disposal of solid waste and the lack of basic sanitation and water treatment, which affects both the terrestrial and marine environments.

MONITORIZAÇÃO DE MUDANÇAS CLIMÁTICAS

The aim is to collect thermal, barometric and humidity data, and to carry out a study of tides within the protected areas of the PNN and RNT. To this end, different beaches will be selected (6 max), with little slope and others with slope, in order to understand how the tides affect the morphologies of the beaches.
